What is GCEL?
GCEL is an organization of educators who plan and advocate for programs that assist children who are developmentally delayed, experientially deprived, slow learners, and/or bright underachievers.
Members are actively involved in promoting people, programs, and policies that are supportive of positive growth for these children.
Recipe for Student Achievement

-a teaspoon of testing
-a pound of parenting
-an ounce of ESOL
-mix with Migrant
-season with specialized programs
-follow state directions carefully
& bake for 180 days and serve with success.
**The Georgia Compensatory Educational Leaders Association was initiated and organized by concerned educators who envisioned the compensatory programs of Title I, Remedial Education Program, Early Intervention Program (formerly SIA), Migrant Education Program, English to Speakers of Other Languages Program and the Neglected and Delinquent Program as vital instructional components to the total education process.
