Dr. Grant Rivera graduated from Glenwood High School in 1993. He, then, went to Northwestern University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in 1997. In 2003 he completed his doctoral studies at the University of Alabama . Dr. Rivera is the principal of South Cobb High School located in metro-Atlanta, a school of 2,200 students and a staff of 200 people.
As a consultant for Family Friendly Schools, a company that works to improve parent involvement and family engagement, he conducts seminars throughout the United States . Dr. Rivera teaches school law at the State University of West Georgia as an adjunct professor. Diane Sawyer and Good Morning America recognized him in March 2007 as a young, dynamic administrator. Dr. Rivera was also noted as one of the “Top 20 Rising Stars Under 40” in an Atlanta-area publication.
